Salt Spring deserves elected people who are accessible, who listen and who take seriously the responsibility that comes from being entrusted to do this work. Those who seek office owe as much to the community.

In making your choice on election day, I hope you will consider the values of candidates as well as their analytical and communication skills. By doing this, there’s a better chance that your chosen candidate will respond appropriately to a range of issues.

Our local government can play a role in setting a positive course for a healthy and resilient community.

We must make our local government more accessible and responsive, better coordinated and easier for community members to understand and navigate.

We need a CRD Director who will advocate clearly and strongly for us in Victoria and elsewhere.

I’m committed to carefully reviewing every expenditure and analyzing every potential new project to understand what it will cost over time and how we’re going to pay for it.

It’s time for us to act decisively and not just keep saying housing is important while continuing with the status quo.

While we’ve made some progress, local government on Salt Spring Island still doesn’t serve our community as well as it should. I think we can fix that.
